Exemption Audit

An accurate exemption roll, without the extra staff

Exemption Audit finds the exemptions that no longer qualify, gives your team the evidence to act on them, and carries every case from flag to final decision in one place.

Why it matters

When an owner passes away, moves out or rents the home, that exemption should come off, but too often nobody finds out. School districts, cities and counties lose revenue, and every other homeowner makes up the difference.

An accurate exemption roll recovers what’s owed, keeps the tax burden fair, and gives taxpayers a reason to trust the process.

How Exemption Audit keeps your roll accurate

1.Every exemption is checked

We start from your exemption roll and check each exemption for signs it no longer qualifies: a deceased owner, a duplicate homestead, a rental listing, a vacant property, or address records that don’t match.

2.Your team reviews only what’s flagged

Each flagged record arrives with every reason and its source. Clear, cancel or request more information from the owner, one at a time or hundreds at once.

3.Every decision is on the record

Each exemption keeps its full history of checks, letters and decisions, ready to update in your CAMA and to back you up if an owner protests.

Catch it before it’s granted

The same data and flags that power Exemption Audit can also check new homestead applications the moment they’re submitted through Forms. Fewer ineligible exemptions reach your roll, and fewer show up in next year’s audit.

“You’ve been responsive. We don’t always get the answer we want, but you always get us an answer quickly, and if something needs fixing you’re all over it. I can’t say enough good things.”

Implementation

Set up around how your office works

No two offices weigh evidence the same way, so we don’t hand you a black box. Every audit starts with your rules.

  1. Configuration workshop

We sit down with your team to walk through every flag and decide what matters for your office: which flags to use, how much weight each one carries, and which ones should show for context without raising the risk score.

  2. Sample audit

We run your rules against a sample of your roll, usually within about two weeks. Your team reviews the results with us, and we adjust anything that’s too noisy or not catching enough.

  3. Full audit, with ongoing tuning

Run your full cohort or the whole roll. We keep meeting with your team as you work the list, so the rules keep getting sharper as you go.
