About Alltus
Government has been told to do more with less for decades. AI is the first thing in a generation that makes it possible. We are building the layer it runs on.

Our history
2017
Built for Assessors
We started out of Stanford Business School as Just Appraised, focused on one thing: building for Assessors. They were keying recorded documents into their systems by hand, one field at a time, so we automated it, making our first product, Deeds Automation.
Next
We continue to innovate new products for Assessors & Appraisers
We built products for taxpayer forms, exemption audits, and better taxpayer customer service, so we could better partner with Assessors & Appraisers across key workflows in their office.
Then
We built solutions for Clerks & Recorders
Better data at the clerk's office means better records flowing downstream to the assessor. So we built Auto-Indexing for clerks, alleviating large teams of their most mundane work.
After that
Assessors, County Clerks, Tax Collectors and city departments asked for our Front Desk solution
We built Front Desk so assessor offices could keep up with taxpayer questions. It started getting pulled into the offices next door. Tax collectors asked for it. County clerks asked for it. Then cities did.
Now
Answering residents across every city and county
1 in 5 people in the United States live in communities powered by Alltus. Cities run us on their phone lines, inboxes, chat, SMS and 311, answering at eight on a Sunday night in more than sixty languages. The same problem shows up in every department: local governments are under-resourced to give the top notch customer service their residents deserve.

We build inside the systems you already run
We run inside the city and county network, read from the system of record and write approved data back into it in real time, under rules each jurisdiction sets to match its own law and processes. Not custom software. One platform, configured by the office running it.
You cannot build that from the outside. It takes years of physically sitting with the people doing the job. We still sit next to all of our customers because the work keeps changing.
One platform, not a set of products
Every product is built to integrate with the others. The deed a clerk indexes is the deed the assessor values and the tax collector bills against.
When one office runs on Alltus, the offices downstream get cleaner data without doing anything, and the resident asking about it gets one answer instead of three.

We are AI-native.
We don’t sell AI.
Being AI-native means our customers are running the most modern software in government: AI across the whole chain of work, not a system of record with AI added on top.
But nobody in a city or county office wants to buy AI. They want software a resident can use without instructions and staff can use on their first day. The only way to build that is to understand the job well enough that the software disappears into it.
Everything rests on trust
1 in 5 people in the United States live in communities that run on Alltus, from rural offices of three people to the largest jurisdictions in the country.
Trust that the product works every day.
Trust that someone answers when you need us.
Trust that we keep showing up to make the next thing better.
